JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – MitsubishiXpander terbaru yang diluncurkan pada GIIAS 2021 mendapatkan berbagai perbaikan. Selain tampilannya yang berubah, fitur yang disematkan pada model terbaru ini juga bertambah.
Misalnya seperti Electronic Parking Brake dengan Brake Auto Hold dan Idling Start Stop System yang kini hadir pada varian Xpander Ultimate. Electronic Parking Brake menggantikan rem tangan mekanikan dengan bentuk yang lebih kompak.
Fitur ini juga sangat membantu ketika berkendara sehari-hari. Misalnya ketika mobil berhenti dan transmisi masuk ke posisi ‘P’, rem parkir langsung aktif. Kemudian jika mau berjalan, tinggal menekannya ke bawah pada tombol yang posisinya di sebelah tuas transmisi.

Kemudian untuk fitur Brake Auto Hold juga sangat membantu ketika mengantre pada lampu lalu lintas yang lama. Cara mengaktifkan fitur ini pun mudah, tinggal menekan tombol yang ada di bawah Electronic Parking Brake.
Secara umum, fitur Brake Auto Hold ini menahan laju mobil ketika sedang berhenti. Cara kerjanya, ketika mobil berhenti di lampu merah, indikator hold berwarna hijau akan muncul di instrument cluster yang artinya mobil sedang direm, jadi kaki bisa diangkat dari pedal rem.
Kemudian ketika mau kembali berjalan, tidak perlu tekan tombol parking brake, tinggal tekan saja pedal gas secara halus dan mobil melaju normal. Fitur ini bisa diibaratkan seperti mengaktifkan rem tangan ketika berhenti sebentar.
Fitur lain yang kami coba adalah idling start stop yang secara otomatis aktif ketika mesin mobil dinyalakan. Idling start stop akan mematikan mesin ketika mobil berhenti dalam beberapa waktu.
Ketika kaki pengemudi diangkat dari pedal rem, mesin secara otomatis menyala kembali. Bagi orang awam, mungkin fitur ini agak membuat kagok, karena harus tunggu mesin menyala lagi sebelum mobil bisa bergerak maju.
Fitur idling start stop ini juga bisa dimatikan, caranya dengan menekan tombol yang ada di sisi kanan setir. Namun ketika mesin mobil mati dan kembali dinyalakan, fitur tersebut secara otomatis aktif.
